Reading the description is optional but I'd love it if you took time to at least skim through it.
Okay so I know I'm not the best at drawing and most of you follow me for my photographs but I still wanted to share this.
This was my final art project before I finished 9th grade this year, our assignment was to use a painting or an artist as inspiration and from that make our own drawing using whatever technique we felt most comfortable with, I chose to make a digital painting and my art teacher thought it was a great idea.
And I - having him as my favorite artist - of course chose to interpret Tim Burton's wonderful creatures.
It all started out with a completely different idea actually, I was going to make my own interpretation of Edward Burra's 'John deth', but then my fried commented on how she thought one of the characters reminded her of the nightmare before christmas and I decided to use the same set-up as Edward Burra's painting, keeping the curtains and so on but mix in a couple of Burton characters as well and well... it turned out like this.
I had to rush it at the end, I really wanted to add more details to it but I didn't have time. I'm still pretty satisfied with the result, even though I could have pushed myself even further and gotten a chance to make more details I still put a lot of time and energy on it and I think that's good enough for at least a "you tried" star.
And I bet no one is ever going to read this entire description but it was nice to just get all my thoughts about this out and I hope you guys enjoy it.
All the copyright goes to Tim Burton and Edward Burra, I simply drew the picture.
Oh and I used references for all Burton's characters from his artbooks.
